Care For Your Steel Weapons
Remember: All metals will oxidize. Even "Stainless Steel" will oxidize if abused by continued exposure to moisture. You must care for all metals to keep them rust free. Especially high carbon steel. Applying oil on the blade is the most popular practice today. There are two types of oil one can use: natural or synthetic. Natural oils like mineral oil (US), camellia and clove oils are very good, but could stain the scabbard. Synthetic oils - Another option is non-acidic Bicycle Chain oil. An excellent choice is Hanwei Sword Oil, formulated specifically for high carbon steels. Note: Avoid using acidic oils like 3-in-1, CLP, WD40, etc. Use them only if you have nothing else available and must protect...
Obtaining Kinah With Weaponsmithing
Weaponsmithing is a profession in Aion that is used to create essentially all of the metal based weapons used by its characters. This includes the swords, daggers, axes, polearms, and maces. Warriors, Assassins and Chanters will all need these items at some point, which gives this profession a nice platform from which to make Kinah - they have a far greater installed base of potential customers. How to Make Kinah with Weaponsmithing For those interested in making a profit with weaponsmithing, you must start with reaching the top level and then getting the materials required for it. The cost of leveling up Weaponsmithing can be rather tremendous on its own, so it is recommended that you don't start...
Anybody can start a small, small business by just rooting through their garage to find some collectibles, and then posting those items on an auction site. This is a good way to make a little extra money, and do it sort of "under the radar", where you're not really running a business so much as just supplementing your income on the side. But, if you want to build a real business, if you want to make a living on it, if you want to be financially independent, you need to build a legitimate home based business. There really is a big difference between making some extra money on the side, and building a real business that you can use to build real wealth. Maybe, just maybe, you can JUST squeak by selling...
Top Reasons People Call 2008 Technology Evil
The other day a Think Tank was asked why do so many people think technology is evil? Perhaps because the computer has been linked to the mark of the beast. In fact, there was once a computer named "The Beast" as it was so massive and had enough capacity to keep track of every world transaction, today most large corporations have such systems, no big deal. One commenter stated that he believed that people who thought technology was evil in the present period were themselves stuck in a rut and he hinted that if we listen to them, then we are all going to be stuck in a rut, as computers and technology help solve many of the problems known to mankind. When considering this I stated to the gentleman: I...
How This Moly Stock Can Make You 50% ROI Per Month
Centuries back a Japanese sword-maker accidentally added a grayish powder he had been using as an asthma medication to the mixture used to make steel swords. The resulting blade was unusually strong yet very flexible and never needed any sharpening. What the Japanese sword-maker had accidentally discovered some seven centuries back was the metal Molybdenum and it's use in making strong alloys. Today without Molbdenum or what most call Moly, you won't be able to drive a car, fly in a plane, fire a gun or build a skyscraper. Moly is used in almost all those alloys used to resist heat, pressure, tension or corrosion. There is a small mining company with a market capitalization of $70 million that has...
There is a little-known event that occurred shortly after the time of our Lord Jesus' birth which, for unknown reasons, the authors John, Matthew, Luke, or Mark chose to leave out of their Gospels. The wondrous biblical story of the shepherds out tending their flocks around Bethlehem and their seeing a star in the sky announcing the birth of the newborn king is well-known to all; likewise is the tender nativity story of the infant Jesus lying in a manger surrounded and being warmed by the breaths of cows and sheep and donkeys. But what was not told in the Gospels was that there were also reindeer at the nativity of Jesus. It turns out that one of the three wise men from the east was actually more...
Bamboo is a type of grass, but it is also one of the toughest woody materials in the world, tougher sometimes than actual hardwoods and even concrete. Bamboo is a native to every continent except Europe and Antarctica, and in Asia it has been a staple building material for hundreds of years. Here are just a few examples of just how tough and versatile bamboo can be. The Voyage of Kon-Tiki In 1947 Norwegian adventurer and ethnographer Thor Heyerdahl and his five-man crew sailed all the way from Peru to the Pacific Islands on a raft, which the crew christened "Kon-Tiki", constructed primarily out of bamboo. The voyage spanned roughly 8000 kilometers, or one fifth of the earth's circumference. How's...
They Laughed When I Said To Buy Arabian Swords
What makes for an IMPRESSIVE sword? Is the blade steel most important? What about the handguard or handle? Luckily for you, ancient Middle Eastern sword makers realized that many different elements go into making a top quality sword. Here are three reasons that you should buy Arabian swords: 1. Japanese Katanas stand out in a crowd because of their curved blades, which are perfect for cutting almost anything. On the other hand, European swords tend to have straight blades with two cutting edges and straight cross guard. When you buy Arabian swords you will notice that the blades are curved just like a katana, but the cross guard is straight like a European sword. 2. Arabian sword makers have taken...
Damascus Steel - the High Tech Knife Steel of...
Damascus Steel is a broad category of metallurgical techniques used to make higher technology knives and sword blades in the 12th through 18th centuries. Prior to the Bessemer process which allows steel to be made in large quantities with exact control over the amount of carbon in the mix, steel was made in an artisanal method - it was made in small batches, and making a batch large enough to make a sword was a technical challenge. Steel is iron with carbon impurities; the best time to mix in the carbon impurities is when the steel is hot. The archetypal image of a blacksmith striking sparks from a red hot steel blade that we see in movies and popular culture stems from needing to distribute the...
Steel Carports Are Unmatched in Durability and...
Contrary to what most people believe, buying an expensive product is not a waste of money. A product with a high price-tag is certainly not useless. Why would it be costly if the consumer would not get any value from it? Consider Apple computers. Arguably, Apple's iMac desktop computer certainly has a considerably higher price compared with an ordinary desktop, but nobody would say that an iMac is a waste of money. An iMac costs because it has great specs and would last longer than ordinary computers. Quality is not cheap. It comes with a price. And if it is quality that you are looking for a carport, nothing can compare to steel carports. Yes, steel carports may have higher price-tags compared to...
Damascus Steel comes out of the Middle East
Damascus steel swords would have been made around Damascus, Syria around 900AD to 1750AD. It is a type or steel alloy that gives great flexibly and great strength. The first to come across this awesome sword was the Crusaders, and it gained a instant reputation. No doubt if you could get your hands on one of these great swords would be a dream come true but to stand on the other side of one would be a nightmare. Even though the recipe is lost to history the term Damascus Is a steel that has a very visible patter or...

Legends are important to many of the world's people and to society in general. Legends give us powerful and benevolent figures to look up to and deviously intelligent malevolent figures to condemn (or to secretly admire). The trouble with legends, however, are the details. Since many of our oldest legends--the really good ones--have been verbally passed down over centuries, the details and juicy bits get lost in the cacophony of bards. The Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, or as I like to say, The Legend of Excalibur and the Knights Templar. As the legend goes, King Arthur is the son of Uther Pendragon and Igraine. He was taken from his father by Merlin who raised him...

The Wakizashi is a smaller version of this weapon. The Tsurugi are swords that are sharp on both ends and are very long in comparison to the Wakizashi which is very short. Older and lengthier versions of these swords that are also...

Spartan Swords - From the Movie 300
The Slicing Sword The Spartan swords are familiar to most of us today from the movie, 300. the move is the story of a famous Spartan battle in which a mere 300 Spartan soldiers took on an enemy that outweighed them in numbers. With stunningly realistic scenes, complete with brutal and gory battles, the movie 300 highlights not only the fierce and determined battle-strong warriors of ancient Sparta , but also their amazing swords and armor. Spartan swords are shorter than their other medieval counterparts; mostly because the Spartans fought on foot as compared to other armies that charged into battle on horseback. Local Store - Local Products - Better Business
Kid's clothes these days are far more fashionable and cute than when I was growing up. Back in the day, mom use to dress me in these gawd awful green and brown dungarees that were functional but hardly a fashion statement. Since my mom was a seamstress, all my clothes were usually hand made and wore like medieval armour. Even if I got something store bought, it seemed that it was still brown or green and looked anything but fashionable. Certainly I can't fault my parents for their clothing choices. There simply wasn't much to choose from, money was tight and my wardrobe was undoubtedly a step up from the burlap clothing my father claimed to have worn when he was a kid. Today however, the market for...

The masterpiece of Beowulf gives us a wealth of symbols and themes to analyze. Throughout the epic perception of major icons such as the great two mead-halls of Heorot and Hygelac's Hall and treasure are important parts of Beowulf. A deeper look into these material possessions and physical places show us that the meade-halls were a significant place of culture and importance, and perception of treasure changed through the story. The great hall of Heorot was a very important place for the king and soldiers of Denmark. Built when there was prosperity throughout Hrothgar's kingdom, it was a symbol of hope, light, and strength. Heorot was an ancient mead-hall. As its name suggests, it was a place...
Growing up as a kid you probably imagined yourself at one point or another as a marauding Viking warrior. Of course, naturally you had your impressive horned helmet carried into battle as well. But is this helmet a myth popularized by Hollywood, or is there some historical fact to it? All archaeological evidence suggests that Viking warriors did not wear horns on their helmets. Of course, there are practical reasons for this as well. Any battle smart warrior would know that having horns jetting out from your helmet would give the enemy a place to grasp and throw you around. In battle, Vikings wore standard Sutton Hoo type helmets that did not have horns. Before the horn myth was made popular, Viking...
Football Fans Wearing NFL Jerseys, Helmets and...
Oh, lighten up! The wigs. The official NFL jerseys. The pig snouts. The strips and stripes and logos stenciled on face and abdomen. The Swiss cheese hats. The Viking helmets. It's all just good, clean fun. Isn't it? Well, maybe when you try to wash off those blue and white stripes, not so clean. Better stick with the NFL jersey. Still, why go to all that trouble just to root for your favorite football team? Can't you have just as much fun in jeans and a T-shirt as you could in, say, a Swiss cheese hat and an authentic Packers jersey? Maybe not. Consider this: the team itself is not satisfied to dress in jeans and a T-shirt. Granted, it helps to have a visual clue when you're trying to throw a pass...

Put a room full of children together with a box full of dress up clothes and watch the fun begin! There are few games that can rival the creativity and fun that kids costumes offer. It seems every little girl is thrilled to dress up as a princess, with glittery jewels and frilly dresses, and what little boy can resist a pirate hat and a play sword. Ordinary places and ordinary days can be transformed into magical times, with the imagination of the child being the only limits. A new trend that I think is fabulous, is dress up birthday parties, or themed parties. There are a couple of ways that a parent can offer this for their children. Local PPC Management
According to the Kelsey group, 60 percent of all internet searches are local. Some estimates run as high as 75 percent. But even if it were only 20 percent, that's still a lot of searches. Tens of millions a day, at least. Whatever the number is, local search is undoubtedly the most untapped opportunity in PPC management. You want to sell weight loss plans, MP3 downloads, high definition TVs, or mortgages nationwide on Google? You can do it, but you'd better strap on your gladiator helmet and prepare for a fight. But if you're an accountant, plumber, painter, repair shop, or podiatrist, it's an easy victory. In most local markets, your internet competitors have no idea what they're doing. This is...

The Importance of SLR Camera Bags
Have you ever accidentally dropped your digital camera? Have you ever left yit exposed under the sun? Have you ever gotten your camera wet? Well, we all know what would happen. In case you didn't here is what would likely happen. If you drop your digital camera, in most cases, the impact would definitely shatter the outer casing, which offers little protection to high velocity impacts, and internal components of the camera, which is composed of sensitive and fragile materials, would most likely be damaged beyond repair. If you forget your camera and leave it under the sun, the inner and outer components made from plastic and rubber, would definitely melt, and ultimately cause the digital camera to...
Yes I am 39 years old today. I am normally the last person to announce his birthday in a cheesy effort to have people give me a halfhearted hug or tell me how great I am. Today though I stand at the doorstep to that wonderful decade that will represent my 40's. I am not there yet but I would like to think that I am rapidly obtaining the wisdom necessary to conquer that decade and that today I may be able to impart some of that wisdom to others. I am so blessed that my five brothers and sisters and their respective spouses have all crossed that threshold many, many......many years before me and will be able to help me through that transition next year. They may have difficulty remembering what it was...
